HAM LOAF W/BROWN SUGAR DIJON GLAZE
INGREDIENTS
(Pre-mixed ham loaf from young’s family market)
1 tablespoon of butter
¼ cup onion (finely chopped)
1 large egg
2/3 cup seasoned breadcrumbs (or crackers)
½ cup milk
1/8 tsp of ground pepper
BROWN SUGAR DIJON GLAZE
¼ cup of light brown sugar (packed)
1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar
Pineapple rings or maraschino cherries (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 F and line a rimmed baking sheet or baking dish with parchment paper.
Melt butter in small skillet over medium heat, then sauté the diced onions for 4-5 minutes. Remove from heat and allow it to cool.
Put ham loaf mix in large bowl and add remaining ingredients (egg, breadcrumbs, milk, ground pepper & sautéed onion) mix well until combined.
Transfer Ham Loaf Mixture to your prepared baking sheet or pan and form into a loaf shape, approx. 8x4 inches in size. Place the loaf in the oven in the center of the rack and bake for 1 hour (350) or until the internal temp of the ham loaf reaches 160 F.
Combine the glazing ingredients in a small bowl (light brown sugar, Dijon mustard, & apple cider vinegar) until smooth. Coat the Ham Loaf with the glaze & top with optional ingredients, then return to oven for an additional 15 minutes.
Remove the Ham Loaf from the oven and rest for 10 minutes before slicing & serving.
